Is CBT for me?
It's great you've found yourself exploring CBT. CBT isn't a one size fits all, but with a collaborative approach, we can forge a solid plan together, working on your goals.
At Gemma Saunders CBT, the aim is for you to reach your full potential, making long lasting changes, hopefully for good.
Together we will look at the relationship between your thoughts, emotions and how your mind and body respond.
If you can dedicate time for sessions, and out of session work, CBT is certainly worth a try.
If you have any questions, drop me a line and we can explore in more detail.

Qualifications & Experience
"Finding the right therapist has to include checking the credentials as well as establishing a rapport.
I was 15 years old when I knew I wanted to be an occupational therapist (I was very lucky). I qualified as an occupational therapist in 2005, with a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy. I then trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, gaining a Post Graduate Diploma in 2010.
I've worked in mental health for most of my career, in eating disorders, community mental health, inpatient private hospital, Defence, social care and the private sector.
Since 2020, I have held a private practice alongside my NHS role, treating mostly Veterans and their families.
I am BABCP fully accredited. I am insured and qualified to work with adults aged 18 and over.
I am registered with Bupa & IPRS Health".

Working with the Armed Forces community
Since 2017, Gemma has worked with the Armed Forces community, in Defence, the NHS and the private sector. Gemma previously worked at Headley Court, the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre DMRC, before moving to Stanford Hall.
Gemma says "Working at DMRC gave me such a valuable insight into military culture and ethos. With this understanding I can help to join the dots for my patients from the Armed Forces community, whether that's been in the NHS, the private or third sector with. I have been very fortunate to have worked with the most inspiring, bravest patients, and staff over the years."
Gemma specialises in military trauma including moral injury, and has an understanding of the psychology of a veteran.
In May 2024, Gemma co-founded Sisters In Service, with her Veteran colleagues Bex and Mel. Sisters In Service is a community interest company supporting women Veterans now working in healthcare, the charity sector and health education.
Gemma Saunders CBT proudly sponsors Sisters In Service, where possible.
